Valley View Memorial Park now has a new full-service mortuary. Designed by J. Stuart Todd Architects of Texas who specialize in mortuary buildings, this facility is a beautiful addition to the cemetery grounds in West Valley.

A red brick comprises the facade of this 12,000 square-foot building. The inside has detailed rooms outlined for various purposes. Among some of the rooms are state rooms, arrangement rooms, visitation rooms, offices, and a chapel. This mortuary will be a full-service facility where caskets are on display in a sales room as well.

A unique feature to this mortuary is the round room on the east side of the building. This area is a coffee shop and break area with an adjoining child room. On this side of the building, one can easily view the Wasatch Mountain Range through the entire wall of windows.

"Throughout the entire building is an enormous amount of detailed woodwork," said Lonnie Kimbell, project manager. "Every room has some accent of whitewashed oak trim."
